Connor Jacob back on top at North Oxford
The weather was unexpectedly kind when the Futures Tour returned to North Oxford on Sunday and despite an awful forecast, the rain stayed away. With the recent wet and warm weather, like most courses, the rough was up which made accuracy even more important on this tight, tree lined course. It was noticable that very few scores were immune to the odd high number and it was testimony to the attitude of the boys that there were so many scores in the 70s.
Jacob Payne led the Under 12 age range with an 82 which pipped Marcus Smith on countback. Aziz Chaudrey won the Under 12 Handicap prize with an 84 – nett 64.
Daniel Butteriss shot the second best score of the day (73) to win the Under 14 trophy ahead of runner up Alfie Burt. Freddie Wheeler won the nett prize with 80 – nett 66.
Connor Jacob shot the best score of the day and his 69 left him 5 shots clear of Stanley kay who was runner up in the Under 16 section. Thomas O’Kane won the nett prize with 78 – nett 69.
