Futures Tour Ellesborough

Futures Tour Ellesborough

The first Futures Tour event of 2018 took place at Ellesborough. The weather on the day was truly awful but the course drained magnificently and despite it proving to be a tough test of golf all competitors completed their rounds. The U12 net section was won by Billy Wood (Stoke Park) with a very good 78 and this pipped Samuel Codrington (Wavendon) by 1 stroke. The gross section was won by Simon Mead (Newbury & Crookham) with a gross 87. This beat Oscar Bolton (Drayton Park) by 4 stokes. Both of which were very credible gross scores in difficult conditions on a long golf course.

The U14 net section was won by Jack Staunton (Temple) with a fine 70. This beat Oliver Gouldby (Hadden Hill) on countback. The gross section was won by Peter Pan (Oxford City) with an impressive 76. This beat Tom Stephenson-Green (Frilford Heath) by 3 strokes.

The U15 net section was won by Thomas Owen (Frilford Heath) who again shot a net 70 which was good enough to beat Huw Pearson (Buckingham) by 4. In the gross section Ben Loveard (Woburn) took the title with a 75 which can only be described as fantastic score. This was good enough to beat Finlay Szafnauer (Frilford Heath) by 2 who shot a credible 77.

Thanks to Ellesborough for hosting us and the Tour moves onto Temple at the end of April.
