Futures Tour Woburn

Futures Tour Woburn

The penultimate Futures Tour event of 2017 was held at the world famous Woburn. The club has hosted many European Tour events, The Ladies British Open , The Travis Perkins Senior Masters amongst many others so the full field of 60 boys were in for a treat. The course was playing very long but the fairways and greens were in pristine condition making it a great test of golf on a true Championship course.

The U12 section was won by Freddie Bearman (Bearwood lakes) with a solid score of 81. In second place 4 shots back on 85 was Simon Mead (Newbury & Crookham). The net section was won by Connor Jacob (Newbury & Crookham) with 76. This pipped George Kennedy (Stoke Park) by a single stroke.

The U14 section was won by home favourite Ben Loveard (Woburn) with a simply outstanding 73. Ben McFaddenn (Stoke Park) settled for second place on countback with a 79. The net section was won by Harrison Coleman (Newbury & Crookham) with a steady 71. This beat Sammie Colvin (Hennerton) by three strokes.

The U15 section was won by Archie Smith (Caversham Heath) with a gross 77. This beat James Casserly (Beaconsfield) by a single stroke. The net section was won by Leon Slade (Kirtlington) after a fine 72. This beat fellow Kirtlington member Markos Carr by a single shot.

Once again thank you to everyone at Woburn for hosting us so warmly and we hope to be back next next year. The final event of the 2017 Futures Tour is at Frilford Heath on the 25th October. This is where the OOM trophies and prizes will be given out to the lucky winners.
