Harry & Luke win Foursomes

The BB&O Foursomes Championship took place at Calcot Park on Friday 23rd May. Justin Rhodes & Edward Stephenson from Woburn went out early and set the pace after shooting level par for the first round. Harry Thomas & Luke Perkins, both from Frilford Heath, were -3 after 9 holes but dropped a few shots coming in to finish +1 after 18. Ashley Walton & Jay Kitching (Frilford Heath) and Bradley Holland & Matt Draper (Tadmarton Heath) both sat 3 shots off the pace at +3. There were a lot of pairs in the chasing pack sitting at +4 & +5. It was all to play for in the afternoon.

The wind picked up in the afternoon which proved challenging. However it looked like it was going to be a close contest as Harry & Luke were closing the gap after 9 holes as they picked up two eagles on their scorecard. Drew Rolfe & Bradley Tuckett were using their home advantage as they carded 1 eagle and 2 birdies on the front nine in the afternoon. Another pair using their home advantage was Darren Gatward & Shane Slatter as they won the afternoon gross prize with a 71. Connor Jacob & Matt McCleery (Goring & Streatley) climbed the leaderboard into 3rd place after a second round 72. Justin & Edward followed their great morning round with a 73, to finish +3 for the event. Harry & Luke’s consistency on the back nine paid dividends as they shot -1 for the final 18 to sneak into the lead with a level par total for the event.

Congratulations to Harry & Luke on winning the Scratch & Club Foursomes!
