McEvoy Trophy

McEvoy Trophy

The Junior Elite Captain Harrison Arnold (Castle Royle) is the 2018 McEvoy Trophy winner. Harrison joins an elite list of winners including Justin Rose and Lee Westwood. The weather affected event was reduced to just 36 holes over two days. Harrison opened up with a solid round of 72 (+1) which left him 5 back going into the second day. A lot of ground to make up but a victory wasn’t impossible. He saved his best golf for the second day and a flawless 67 (-4) in poor conditions gave him a two round total of 139 (-3). Given that he was 5 shots back going into the second and final round Harrison had a long wait in the clubhouse to see if the score he posted early on would be enough, it was. The picture below is Harrison being awarded the McEvoy trophy by the man himself, Peter McEvoy. Our congratulations go to Harrison and also members of the BB&O Performance Team for all the hard work that they put in behind the scenes. Enjoy the win Harrison and we hope there is more to come.

There were other notable results from BB&O Junior Elite squad players including Conor Gough (Stoke Park) who finished in a tie for 8th after round of 70 & 72. Slightly further down the table but was Melan Dhaubhadel (Calcot Park) who finished in a tie for 28th. Taylor Paul (T36), Feb Tannum-Donaldson (T59) and Tom Gregory (T67) also took part.
