Seniors Championship

George Wilson proved the best able to handle the awful weather at Ellesborough on 7th & 8th May. With very gusty conditions on Wednesday the players found it difficult to score on quick greens and 3 putts were commonplace. The greens were slower on Thursday – only because it was so wet! Nonetheless, the players battled awy and in the end George Wilson (Calcot Park) and County Captain won the Seniors Champion at his first attempt. Home players Cliff Pearce and Rod Crisp took second and third spots and Gilbert Runnincles (Gerrards Cross) in 4th place. Oddly enough, these 4 also won their age groups which, on checking the records, is unique in thie Championship.
