Special Achievement Awards

Special Achievement Awards

Thursday 9th September was the first of two parents evening hosted by BB&O. In front of nearly 70 guests at Frilford Heath there were three special awards to be given out. The first award to be awarded was the Boddington Trophy of which is awarded to the most improved junior golfer within BB&O. This was presented by BB&O President Alistair Booth to Tom Gregory (Stoke Park). Tom has had an outstanding season and at just 14 years old he has earned himself a place in the England Boys 2018 squad.

The second award that was presented was the U14 Achievement Award. This award typically goes to a player who has demonstrated not only significant improvements during the year but has excelled on The Futures Tour. This year it was presented to Ben Loveard (Woburn) who has done both of the above points and was the run away winner of the U14 Order of Merit.

The last award of the evening didn’t go to a BB&O player but somebody who has been involved in developing junior golf for many years. His hard work and dedication is appreciated by all involved with BB&O. The extra special award was presented to Jan Hubrecht. Without Jan’s input the BB&O junior programme would not be what it is today and for that we hope that our small gesture goes some way to showing our appreciation.
