Victory for BB&O First Team

The Triangular match was held at Frilford Heath on a glorious sunny day. The juniors had a great start with Mark Dickin (Bearwood Lakes) & Ben McFadden (Castle Royle) winning against both the Seniors and the First Team. The First Team picked up pace with the final 3 pairs winning all their matches. Which left it tight between the Juniors on 3.5 points and the Seniors on 2.5 points. With eight singles matches in the afternoon it was all to play for.

Ben Loveard (Woburn) stormed to victory with a 4/3 win against Ben McFadden and a 5/4 win against Mike Sanders (Beaconsfield). Taylor Paul (Harleyford) and Rory Browne (Feldon Valley) followed up with wins in both their matches. George Wilson (Calcot Park) beat junior Mark Dickin 3/2 to narrow the gap on the Junior team. Alfie Forisky (Maidenhead) had a great  match against Junior team member Jack Dyer (Sand Martins) which went to 18 where Alfie just sneaked the win. Alfie and Jack both beat Kevin Brant (East Berkshire) 3/2. Unfortunately James Brockington (Henley) had to retire after nine holes due to an injury which left Connor Jacob (Goring & Streatley) and Tim Whittaker (Beaconsfield) battling in their match. Connor birdied 16 to win 3/2. George Johnson (Beaconsfield) and Ben Quick (Beaconsfield) sealed the victory in both their matches resulting in the First Team winning the Triangular Match. Craig Buttivant (Gerrards Cross) and David Niven (East Berkshire) won their matches against the Junior team however it wasn’t enough to secure second place.
