Alfie & Harry are Champions

The BB&O Foursomes Championship took place at Calcot Park on Friday 24th May. Thirty three teams competed for one of three trophies – scratch, handicap and club. The weather was good, warm with a little breeze, resulting in perfect scoring conditions.  In the first of two rounds Jonathan Kingsbury & Callum Kirby, both from Harleyford, set a clubhouse target of 72 (+2). Michael Armitage & Greg Smith (Ellesborough) went three shots better to sit at the top of the leaderboard on level par. Connor Jacob & Matt Mccleery (Goring & Streatley) had 5 birdies on their way to shooting level par. Alfie Forisky (Maidenhead) & Harry Thomas (Frilford Heath) were the third team to shoot level par however Adam Birdseye & Lee Moore, both from Maidenhead, shot 67 (-3) to take the lead after the first round. As the afternoon round started, Alfie and Harry were able to gain a couple of shots on the leaders leaving just 1 shot between them heading into the final 9 holes.

The final 9 holes proved exciting as Adam & Lee dropped 5 shots to shoot 76 (+6) and bring the rest of the field into contention. Connor & Matt shot -3 on their back nine to finish level par for the event which was good enough to lift the Club Foursomes trophy. Alfie & Harry took full advantage and shot 68 (-2) in the afternoon to become the Scratch Foursomes Champions.

Chip Butler & Jordan Bradshaw (Sand Martins) finished the event with a nett score of 140 to win the Handicap Foursomes.

Congratulations to Alfie & Harry on becoming the BB&O Foursomes Champions.
