Michael lifts the trophy

The BB&O 25 & Over Championship took place at Newbury & Crookham on Monday 27th May. Michael Verity (Burnham Beeches) went out first and set the pace with a level par 69. Ben Platt (East Berkshire) was close behind with a 70 (+1). The rain then decided to make an appearance as the final few groups were completing the back nine. Matthew Mccleery (Goring & Streatley) continued his fine form from the Foursomes Championship to shoot 71 (+2) and finish in the top 5. Defending champion, Ben Welch (Woburn), needed a birdie up the last to tie Michael’s level par round but it wasn’t meant to be.

Micheal’s level par was good enough to secure the trophy. Congratulations to Michael on being crowned the BB&O 25 & Over Champion!
