Champions are Crowned
The BB&O 25 & Over Championship returned to The Oxfordshire on Monday 29th May. It was set to be a challenging day with strong winds and high rough. Among the earlier starters, Lewis Ainsworth (Frilford Heath) shot level par on the back nine to finish with 77 (+5). Lewis’ score remained at the top of the leaderboard until Jonathan Kingsbury (Harleyford) had a flurry of birdies to shoot 74 (+2). Jamie Cook (Heythrop Park) went one shot better to take the lead before the final two groups came in. Kevin Freeman (East Berkshire) and Rory Browne (Feldon Valley) matched Jamie’s 73 to finish in second. Ben Welch (Woburn) and Alex Stubbs (Frilford Heath) were neck and neck at -1 standing on the 18th tee. With strong winds off the left on this difficult hole, Ben’s par was enough to secure the victory.
Congratulations to Ben Welch on becoming the BB&O 25 & Over Champion!
